The story of my life, my knowledge, my experiences, my healing, and my pain.</p><p>I&#8217;m Kris Wear. I grew up in my mom&#8217;s health food store that she opened in 1977 when I was 6. My dad was a chiropractor so mostly what I was exposed to was alternative healing, very little allopathic medicine. I worked in that store my whole life, eventually bought my mom out, and built a thriving business selling natural products. For close to 50 years, I have lived and breathed the health and wellness industry.</p><p>Several years ago God told me (I didn&#8217;t even believe in God) I had to write a book (I didn&#8217;t even know how to write) about living a life showing people they didn&#8217;t need &#8220;magic&#8221; pills (I even owned a pill store) so, in 2020, at the height of my success, I closed my store. I thought maybe I&#8217;d renovate, have a revolution against what the natural products industry had become. (insert big corp buyouts and amazon Whole Foods supply chain ownership) But when I really looked at it, I realized I&#8217;d have to keep selling products I didn&#8217;t believe in. So in 2021, I closed it down for good.</p><p>For the past 5+ years, I&#8217;ve been getting up in the wee hours of the morning (not my choice but that&#8217;s when my muse strikes) to write, to learn, to build. Having every worldview I held shattered and rebuilt. I have not only been changing my world views, I have changed my entire being - physical, mental, spiritual. Body, mind and soul.</p><div class="captioned-image-container"><figure><a class="image-link image2 is-viewable-img" target="_blank" href="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic" data-component-name="Image2ToDOM"><div class="image2-inset"><picture><source type="image/webp" srcset="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_424,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 424w, https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_848,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 848w, https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_1272,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 1272w, https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_1456,c_limit,f_webp,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 1456w" sizes="100vw"><img src="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic" width="500" height="458" data-attrs="{&quot;src&quot;:&quot;https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic&quot;,&quot;srcNoWatermark&quot;:null,&quot;fullscreen&quot;:null,&quot;imageSize&quot;:null,&quot;height&quot;:458,&quot;width&quot;:500,&quot;resizeWidth&quot;:null,&quot;bytes&quot;:97852,&quot;alt&quot;:null,&quot;title&quot;:null,&quot;type&quot;:&quot;image/heic&quot;,&quot;href&quot;:null,&quot;belowTheFold&quot;:false,&quot;topImage&quot;:false,&quot;internalRedirect&quot;:&quot;https://kristinewear.substack.com/i/185080349?img=https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic&quot;,&quot;isProcessing&quot;:false,&quot;align&quot;:null,&quot;offset&quot;:false}" class="sizing-normal" alt="" srcset="https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_424,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 424w, https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_848,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 848w, https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_1272,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 1272w, https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/$s_!HRR2!,w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F552a0259-d871-4f61-9442-4a3d7cf25bbd_500x458.heic 1456w" sizes="100vw"></picture><div class="image-link-expand"><div class="pencraft pc-display-flex pc-gap-8 pc-reset"><button tabindex="0" type="button" class="pencraft pc-reset pencraft icon-container restack-image"><svg aria-hidden="true" width="20" height="20" viewBox="0 0 20 20" fill="none" stroke-width="1.5" stroke="var(--color-fg-primary)" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"><g><path d="M2.53001 7.81595C3.49179 4.73911 6.43281 2.5 9.91173 2.5C13.1684 2.5 15.9537 4.46214 17.0852 7.23684L17.6179 8.67647M17.6179 8.67647L18.5002 4.26471M17.6179 8.67647L13.6473 6.91176M17.4995 12.1841C16.5378 15.2609 13.5967 17.5 10.1178 17.5C6.86118 17.5 4.07589 15.5379 2.94432 12.7632L2.41165 11.3235M2.41165 11.3235L1.5293 15.7353M2.41165 11.3235L6.38224 13.0882"></path></g></svg></button><button tabindex="0" type="button" class="pencraft pc-reset pencraft icon-container view-image"><svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" width="20" height="20" viewBox="0 0 24 24" fill="none" stroke="currentColor" stroke-width="2" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round" class="lucide lucide-maximize2 lucide-maximize-2"><polyline points="15 3 21 3 21 9"></polyline><polyline points="9 21 3 21 3 15"></polyline><line x1="21" x2="14" y1="3" y2="10"></line><line x1="3" x2="10" y1="21" y2="14"></line></svg></button></div></div></div></a></figure></div><p></p><p>Getting your worldviews shattered is tough. Okay, truth be told, there might be a few more ideas bubbling up in the background, but I'm laser-focused on these three to bring them to life. As any writer knows, the key to turning dreams into reality is to start weaving those words into existence, one thread at a time. So, here I am, committing to the page and inviting you along for the journey. These books stem from my personal experiences, insights, and awakenings, and they're all tied to the core philosophy of "wearing life" with intention and awareness.</p><p>Let's start with the flagship: <strong>Wear Life</strong>, a self-help guide that's all about reframing how we approach our existence. Think of it this way, we wear life like we wear clothes. Every choice, every habit, every mindset is a fiber that contributes to the fabric of our daily reality, ultimately weaving the grand tapestry of our lives. This book is designed to empower you to recognize those fibers, to choose them wisely, and craft a life that fits you perfectly. Whether you're stuck in a rut or seeking deeper fulfillment, <em>Wear Life</em> will offer practical tools, stories, and exercises to help you tailor your world from the inside out.</p><p>Next up is <strong>Wear's - The Beef!</strong>, my deep dive into the nutrition and food world through the lens of my carnivore awakening. This one is personal, it's the story of how shifting to an animal-based diet transformed my health, led to significant weight loss, and unlocked a host of unexpected benefits like sharper mental clarity, sustained energy, and overall vitality. I'll break down the science, share my triumphs and challenges, and challenge the myths surrounding plant based diets. If you've ever wondered about going carnivore or just want to optimize your fuel for a better "wear" on life, this book will serve up the beef, both literally and figuratively.</p><p>Finally, there's <strong>Big Natural</strong>, a memoir-meets-expos&#233; on my years in the natural products industry. I grew up in this space thinking it was the antidote to Big Pharma, a world of wholesome, earth-friendly alternatives. But over time, I've come to see it's often the same snake, just with different heads: corporate interests, misleading claims, and profit-driven agendas masquerading as "natural" solutions. Through anecdotes from my career, industry insights, and hard-learned lessons, this book will pull back the curtain on what's really going on and encourage a more discerning approach to wellness.
